Götzis (pe). Ringerteams aus aller Herren Länder trafen sich am Samstag in der Sporthalle zum Kräftemessen. Der KSV Götzis hatte zum Wettkampf geladen und die Extremsportler folgten den Ruf und gaben ihr Bestes, um ihr Land in den vorderen Rängen zu platzieren.

Begeisterung für Spitzensport
Die Nationalteams aus den USA, Tschechien, Slowakei, Frankreich, Schweiz, Dänemark, Finnland, Serbien, Portugal, Israel, Georgien, Indien und natürlich Österreich, waren angetreten, um beim meist besetzten Junioren-Nachwuchsturnier für Ringer unter 21 Jahren der Welt, teilzunehmen. Es gab Ringsport vom Feinsten zu sehen, die Zuschauer verfolgten gebannt die Wettkämpfe und feuerten mit Rufen und Applaus die Sportler an. Harte Kämpfe und strenge Regeln bestimmten den Tag. Der Mäderer André Kogler belegte in der Klasse bis 74 kg den 4. Platz. Am Ende standen die Wertungen fest und damit diejenigen, die sich gegen ihre Weltklasse-Konkurrenten durchgesetzt hatten: Frankreich Platz 1, Serbien Platz 2, Finnland Platz 3, Slowakei Platz 4 und die USA an Platz 5. Die hochkarätige Ringsportveranstaltung zog zahlreiche Ringerfans aus nah und fern an.
